We did not know Duard well. But we have a lovely story that I think speaks to his character and I was sad to discover his passing. I came across a calling card that he handed us years ago, maybe in 2017.
We were walking on the road along Griggs Reservoir on a lovely day in the Spring, and my husband had a health problem, became dizzy, and sat down on the ground to avoid a fall. We were assessing the situation, trying to make a plan for getting home, and a charming man stopped, and asked if he could help. I asked him if he could just stay, and wait with my husband while I made haste back to our car and then return to pick him up. Duard stayed with my husband and they had pleasant conversation until I returned. He shared that he was a dancer, and my husband being an artist, found a kindred spirit to ease his anxiety while he waited. What a gem. Those who knew him well must miss his presence still.

I loved Duard from the moment I met him and that love continues still, and always will. He was my oldest and dearest friend. Unfortunately, my illness kept me from being able to spend all the time with him that I wanted to and I hope he understood. He was the most special and wonderful person I’ve ever known and I will never forget him! The only satisfaction I can get from his departure from this world is that he is reunited with his Mother and Chuck, and I know that he will finally be happy again. I love you and miss you, Duard!!!♥️😇🙏🏼
