Vernon Salyer Jr

Vernon Salyer Jr., Sunrise, October 4, 1954 in Columbus, OH, Sunset, September 27, 2022 in Columbus, OH. 

Preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Roy and Carrie Salyer and Cecil and Murzie Cox, parents, Vernon Sr and Lovenia Salyer, brothers, Willis Dean Salyer and Lee Allen Salyer, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Survived by, former wife, Mary Jane Salyer, daughter, Lovenia Gensure, son in law, Jason Gensure, grandchildren, Gracie (Brock Allen) and Jayson Michael Gensure, sister, Kari (Mike) Buckalew, niece, Emma, nephew, Landon, also nephew, Daniel Jones, adopted daughters, Stephanie Lilly and Jennifer Lowe-Kraft.

He was a loving and caring man who would do anything for anybody if at all possible. He was a provider no matter the circumstances. He believed that God would provide. He was liked very well by everyone who met him. His sense of humor could make everyone laugh. In his later years he watched golf, college football (Go Fighting Irish!), home improvement and cooking shows, not to mention the shows about cars.

He worked hard at any job that he had. He worked as a garbage man with his brothers in law, Bill (Ettalee), John (JoAnn), Spark (Connie). He had one other brother in law, Frank. Sisters in law, Emma (Tom), Alma Gay, Loretta (Ed), many cousins, who are special to him and other family as well, whom he loved all the same. 

His work as a welder and electrician were his favorite. He worked in concrete welding cages for forms for concrete pipe. And making ambulances for Horton. He then worked as an electrician.

He wanted everyone to know he was very grateful as are we all to the staff and doctors from Ohio Health Doctors Hospital and Ohio Health Hospice. We his family appreciate more than you will ever know because you were there when we couldn't be.

Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERLA HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Monday, October 3, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where service will be held 12:30 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Pastor Craig Dove officiating. Interment Alton Cemetery.
