Jose Angel Rodriguez

Mr. Jose Angel Rodriguez, was joyfully received by the Lord and taken to his eternal resting place on 20 March 2018. Mr. Rodriguez, the youngest son of the late Remigio and Saturnina Rodriguez was preceded in his heavenly arrival by his brothers Americo, Edalino (Cuchi), nephew Brian, and aforementioned parents.  

Mr. Rodriguez was born in Mayaguez, PR, raised in Lorain, OH and relocated in Columbus, OH to raise his family. He ultimately spearheaded the migration of additional family members following him to Columbus, OH. As the patriarch and anchor to his family he was a constant loving father figure to his siblings, children, children’s spouses, nephews, nieces, friends and most of all, his grandchildren. He was the steady guide in the family. As a jack of all trades, he was the incumbent mechanic and handyman to anyone in need. His ability to to troubleshoot and overcome obstacles was a key driver in his life. He took his gift, maximized it, and took his calling seriously to help anyone in need. He would often offer his services at any given time; carrying all his tools in his vehicle in order to be prepared when the opportunity presented itself. He offered all of this out of pure love and joy for his family members. He never asked for any sort of compensation. His preferred form of compensation was the satisfaction knowing that he had assisted others in need. The ultimate gratification was served by a hot cup of coffee, good meal, and an extended stay in the home of his loved ones. Subsequently, initiating his most treasured gift--his jovial and loving nature to fill the atmosphere. He would cause any room to flood in good nature with his humor and antics that were contagious to anyone around him. This aspect will greatly be missed and leaves a void to anyone who had to opportunity to spend time with this great man. He loved, served, and cared for others more than he did for himself.

He is survived by his older sister; Candelaria Rodriguez, his two sons and their spouses; Jeremy and Ladawn Rodriguez (Aldridge), Robert and Samantha Rodriguez (Owens); grandchildren Alycia, Gabriel, Bella, and Millie. As well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Services will be held on Sunday, 25 March 2018 from 2 - 5 PM at Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 W. Broad St, Galloway, OH 43119.
