Tabatha J Jones

Tabatha Jean Jones passed away May 22, 2017 at Mt Carmel West Hospital from an apparent overdose. Tabatha was born in Bristol, TN. She graduated from Licking Heights and attended many rehabilitation centers throughout the years. Tabatha was survived by her daughters Destiny, Christiana & Angel Miller, her parents Brenda-Curtis Jones, Sisters - Brandie Frost, Melissa Jones/Albert Munnerlyn, nieces Jaleana, Reona Munnerlyn, Nephews - Albert, Kurtis, Adriel Munnerlyn, Zane, Xavier Smith, grandparents Raymond- Phyllis Frost, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceeded in death by her grandparents Helen, Robert Hogle, Uncle Roger, Aunt Tammy, Aunt Sheila and Cousin Billy. I choose to tell her story so that maybe it will help someone so that her death will not be in vain.  Our daughter had a mental illness that drove her to the addiction of drugs.  The system is not set up to actually rehabilitate but instead is a revolving door.  ER visits, Hospital stays, Court Houses, Jails, Netcare and even short term Rehabilitation centers as well as Outpatient services. Family and friends tried to guide her for her to get the help that was needed.  The services were just not there.  Our daughter was not famous during her life she did not make major contributions to society and she was not wealthy - She had a disease of addiction.  However, she was also a mother to 3 beautiful daughters, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, grand-daughter and a dear friend to many who love and will miss her everyday. For this reason alone her story needs to be heard.  Tabatha was a beautiful soul, she loved big, cared deeply for all that she knew.  Her smile was warm with dimples so deep.  Her willingness to help any & all, no one will ever get to experience again. Tabatha was a beautiful woman who was just lost in this world.  Funeral Services will be held at Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 West Broad St. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 5-7pm. Reception to follow at Lower Lights, 1066 Bellows Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43223
