Matthew Andree

Mathew Robert Andree, age 51, of Hilliard, died at Riverside Methodist Hospital surrounded by family after a long struggle with diabetes. Matt was the loving son of Robert F. Andree who preceded him in death and Lue, longtime resident of Brecksville. Matt graduated from Brecksville High School in 1983, he then joined the Army and was deployed in Germany. Matt then went to the University of Akron, graduating in 1987. He received a Master's Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 1995 and later a Master's Degree in Education f rom Antioch College. Matt is survived by wife, Paula; children, Skye, Clay and Carl; and mother, Lue, longtime resident of Brecksville: sister, Pam (Nick) of Valpariso Indiana. Also surviving are Jeremy Davis and Chelsea Hood. Matt devoted his professional life to advocating for marginalized children and families. His work included time at Akron Child Guidance Center, Hannah Neil Center for Children, Columbus AIDS Task Force and W. Broad Elementary. Matt would tell you without hesitation that the very best job of his life was Father, he delighted in his children and was very involved in their lives at every age. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1555 S. James Rd., Columbus 43227. Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
