Dominic Verrilli Jr.

At age 81, Dom passed from this life on May 22, 2017 at home surrounded by his devoted family. Dom was born on September 7, 1935 in Columbus. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Catherine Verrilli and brother Patrick. Dom is survived by Sandra, his loving wife of 60 years, sons Dominic III (Sheri), Michael (Patty) and Christopher (friend Sarah), grandchildren Anthony (Noelle), Daniel (Ben), Timothy (Janelle), Lauren Rooney (Matt), Garrett (friend Chanelle), Averie, sister Carol Ann Hummel (Chuck) as well as nieces and nephews, Cathy, Charlie, Wendy, and Heidi. On May 8th, he was blessed with his first great-grandchild, Olivia Marie. Dom also leaves behind many dear friends, mostly through relationships formed at Glenwood UMC. He had served on the Board of Trustees at Glenwood for several years and was active in the United Methodist Men. He was the coordinator of the Gardens of Glenwood community garden and also loved nothing more than helping to prepare church dinners. He also acted as a coach and mentor to many young men in the Valleyview area Little League baseball and football teams. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dom's name to Glenwood UMC, 2833 Valleyview Dr., Columbus, OH 43204. A Celebration of Dom's Life will be held at Glenwood UMC on Friday, May 26th at 11:00 a.m. preceded by visitation with the family beginning at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements completed at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Crematory, 2693 W.
